About the job RN Unit Manager OB, Labor and Delivery

Salary: $115,000 -$120,000 + Up to 10% Annual Bonus
Leadership Over L&D and Postpartum | Approximately 43 FTEs

I'm partnering with a strong, well-established health system seeking an experienced OB nursing leader to step into a Unit Manager role overseeing both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum services. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically grounded, forward-thinking leader who is ready to guide a high-performing women's services team and drive quality outcomes.

Role Overview:
The Unit Manager serves as a key nursing leader responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating all aspects of patient care on the designated units. This role manages staffing, workflow, equipment, and resources to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care. The leader in this position must stay current with evidence-based practices, regulatory standards, and evolving trends in OB/L&D care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct day-to-day clinical operations for both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 43 FTEs
  • Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care through effective staffing, resource management, and workflow oversight
  • Stay current with clinical practices, regulatory requirements, and quality initiatives
  • Lead program development, implementation, and process improvements across the service line
  • BSN required
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical RN experience
  • Strong understanding of leadership principles, management strategies, and quality improvement frameworks
  • Ability to design, implement, and lead clinical programs

If you're a seasoned OB nurse leader ready to take ownership of a dynamic L&D/Postpartum service line, I'd welcome the opportunity to discuss this role in more detail.
