Description
UNC Health southeastern Cardiology & Cardiovascular Care seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our community‑based practice of Cardiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Cardiovascular Surgeons, and APPs.

- Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- One weekend/month, Saturday‑Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for consultations
- Combination of clinical duties, stress testing, and patient consultation
Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited graduate‑level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program. Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina or eligible. Board certification if required by the Department.

UNC Health southeastern is a non‑profit, comprehensive health care system, with a market draw of 175 K. UNC Health southeastern licensed for 452 beds offers a combination of acute care, intensive care, and psychiatric services to more than 15,000 inpatients and 61,000 emergency patients annually. The system includes a large group of medical students and 90 residents in three programs (EM, IM, FM) operating and rotating on our campus and 30+ clinics.
Plans are underway to add fellowship programs in cardiology, critical care, and sports medicine in 2025 and 2026.
Professional Experience Requirements: APP experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated clinical competency. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills. Effective interaction to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting. Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.
Located in Robeson County, Lumberton, North Carolina, the position is ideally situated on I‑95 just 20 minutes north of the South Carolina border. Popular cities and beaches, such as Raleigh, Wilmington, and Myrtle Beach, are only 90 minutes away. The city is full of history, culture, and fun. Hike or bike on the Riverwalk near historic downtown, paddle down the Lumber River, and enjoy local festivals and downtown events.
