About the Program: Buckner Children and Family Services operates a Foster Care Program in Lufkin, TX. The program is part of an organization that has served the community since 1879 and focuses on providing hands‑on ministry to the most vulnerable populations.

Summary: We are seeking a Foster Care Case Manager to join our Foster Care Program. As a Case Manager, you will coordinate and provide services to foster children, foster families and foster‑adoptive families while ensuring compliance with licensing and Buckner policies.

What You’ll Do
  • Participate with the Foster Care team to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of foster children per each client’s plan of service.
  • Provide ongoing case management for clients in Buckner foster homes.
  • Engage in regular supervision and support with clients and foster parents through home visits, office visits and telephone contact as required by state licensing and Buckner procedures.
  • Offer individual, family and support group counseling to foster care clients.
  • Complete thorough documentation for case files in a timely manner according to licensing requirements and Buckner policies.
  • Maintain all client files in accordance with established minimum standards and Buckner procedures.
  • Audit client files regularly to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Participate in child‑placing decisions for children being placed in foster homes.
  • Develop, monitor and review the Plan of Service with clients to increase strengths, address needs and reduce conflict in the home.
  • Screen, license and perform home studies for potential foster parents as part of the licensing process.
  • Participate in in‑service training, including SAMA, CPR/First Aid, Medications and other clinical training.
  • Attend and support Buckner activities for foster parents and foster children.
What You’ll Bring
  • Knowledge and experience that meet Texas Minimum Standards for Child Placing Agencies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or a related human services field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to drive assigned or personal vehicle with a valid state license, proof of liability insurance and eligibility for Buckner’s insurance policy.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to drive on behalf of Buckner.
  • Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
