Job Summary and Responsibilities
- Full‑time - Electrophysiologist
- 6 cath labs, 2 dedicated EP labs
- EnSite X EP System X & Carto 3 V7 and Carto Prime (both mapping systems available on site)
- All EP procedures capable; LAAO Center of Excellence (Watchman/Amulet); PFA contract approved and started PFA program for AF ablations with Boston/Abbott
- Call schedule: 1:7 cardiology call with only 1 major holiday per year

Heart Institute of East Texas (HIET) is a multispecialty cardiology group providing services at two local hospitals and two open heart programs. The practice includes 13 physicians (7 interventional, 4 invasive/general, 1 EP) plus a CV surgeon. HIET is affiliated with St. Luke’s Health‑Memorial and is recognized by the American College of Cardiology as a Heart Care Center of Excellence every year since 2018, and has received the PIONEER award for being one of the first ten hospitals in the nation to receive this designation.
The practice serves 12 counties (population ~350,000) with 10 clinic locations and privileges at 4 hospitals.
The institute specializes in electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization labs, heart failure, and chest pain with four ACC accreditations in Texas (EP, Cath Lab, Heart Failure, Chest Pain). It operates an Integrated PFA program for AF ablations.
