Warehouse Delivery Assistant - Lubbock, TX Position Overview
Our Warehouse Delivery Assistant loads and unloads Pella delivery trucks from delivery trucks into warehouse and from warehouse into delivery trucks. Ensures product is handled safely and accurately within high Pella quality standards. Assigned teams and tasks will vary based on business necessity.
Applicants must be at least 25 years of age with a clean driving record and have a valid Driver’s License.

- Must be able to pass an extensive background screen
- Safely loads and unloads trucks per delivery paperwork
- orks in a way that protects the product from damage during the warehousing and delivery process
- Performs visual quality inspections on product while loading and unloading
- Notifies manager or coworkers of shortages, discrepancies or anticipated needs
- Develop continuous improvement suggestions
- Ensure lift is operated in safe manner at all times, in all conditions
- Reports maintenance needs on material handling vehicles
- Meets company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions and wearing required safety apparel (i.e. protective shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, seat belt, etc.)
- Adheres to inventory integrity processes and assists in periodic physical inventory counts
- At jobsite unloading, treats property and customers with high level of respect and courtesy
- Skilled at safely handling large, heavy units, strong body and ergonomic awareness
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and responsiveness to work load needs
- Able to follow a process and examining work flow to identify areas for improvement
- Able to learn how to safely operate lift truck
- Able to maintain open and effective communication
- Works collaboratively with delivery customers and Pella team members
- Adaptable to changing processes and priorities
- Works well without close supervision, but always keeps manager informed

Education and/or ExperienceMust have High School Diploma or GED and dependable work history. Prior warehouse experience preferred.
Computer SkillsFamiliarity with computers preferred. You will be expected to develop proficiency in warehouse inventory scanning systems.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to stand; walk; use your hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with your hands and arms; and talk or hear. You will be regularly required to stoop or crouch to pick up objects. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 150 pounds without assistance and more with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Repetitive body motions will be required. The time commitment required of this position will vary with based on business need.
Work environment with this job includes company warehouse facilities and adjoining office. The noise level of this job is typically moderate to loud. Temperature fluctuates with seasons.
Communication SkillsExcellent verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good customer service skills (in person or via the phone).
Professional SkillsMust be a team player and exhibit a strong desire to learn and promote self-growth. Must be pro-active, self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to follow assignments through to completion. Attention to detail is required. Must be able to develop trust, respect, and confidence of customers, coworkers and managers. Must present in a clean and neat physical appearance.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to count, add, subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform calculations using units of time, measurement, etc.
