Position: Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Overview

Build the Future with Us — Equipment Share is hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at our onsite facility in Afton, TX
. We’re assembling a team to transform an industry through innovative technology, real-time support, and a strong, caring culture. This role focuses on maintenance and repair for a variety of company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, with opportunities to work on a modern fleet.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. On‑call during weekends only in special circumstances.

Responsibilities
  • Use our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders; track service intervals; order parts; and diagnose issues using data from hundreds of makes and models.
  • Practice safe repair practices for equipment.
  • Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably.
  • Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools with independent judgment.
  • Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner.
  • Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment & parts.
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred).
  • Field Mechanic duties: travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
  • Year-round OEM training provided by the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Own tools applicable to the position
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma, trade school certificate preferred
  • Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; must be at least 21 to operate company vehicle
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Field Technicians may be required to be clean-shaven to enter certain worksites
  • This is a safety-sensitive position; employment contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen
