Overview
Under minimal supervision, the Facilities Technician supports individual retail and wholesale fueling locations by troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance services pertaining to malfunctioning and broken fueling equipment. Pay is $21.00/hr - $24.00/hr based on experience.
Responsibilities- Prioritize work schedule to minimize fueling operation downtime based on daily work orders received via email, text, phone, and the automated dispatch system.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Inspect and fix malfunctioning fueling equipment using general guidelines, personal knowledge, equipment manuals, and other devices.
- Append, resolve, and close each service call through the dispatch system.
- Repair or replace defective parts using inventory maintained in service vehicle.
- Utilize warehouse, automated ordering, and local store accounts to obtain parts as needed.
- Contact Maintenance Dispatcher and Supervisor when problems require outside contractor assistance, are recurring events, or parts cannot be obtained locally and need ordering.
- Provide troubleshooting help and analysis of equipment by inspecting and diagnosing possible causes. Notify appropriate personnel of estimated repair time and consult supervisor for major repairs.
- Follow up to ensure affected systems remain functional after repair or preventive maintenance.
- Carry an emergency cell phone and respond to all calls within the dispatch system's prescribed time frame.
- Prepare and complete a work order document for each dispatched call.
- Ensure all repairs are performed effectively and efficiently by accurately defining issues, writing clear scopes of work, and analyzing bids before implementation.
- Perform routine maintenance, including painting, general repairs, landscaping, and trash cleanup.
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record; daily travel required.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis.
- English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding skills.
- Detail oriented with strong time management skills.
- Knowledge of general repairs of plumbing, electrical, fueling equipment, and building repairs.
- Experience with Fuel/POS systems, Electrical, or Plumbing is a plus.
- It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability.
