Cashier role at The Home Depot
. Cashiers provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service to customers. They process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area, and proactively seek product knowledge to inform customers and identify selling opportunities. They follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier may assist in expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
They provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching and training Front End Associates.
- Process Checkout and/or Return transactions and monitor Self-Checkout to ensure fast, friendly, accurate and safe service.
- Provide product information to customers and identify selling opportunities.
- Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
- Assist Head Cashier by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching and training Front End Associates as needed.
- Preferred: 1+ years of Cashier experience.
