This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience. Pay rate: $14.00 to $17.00 per hour.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the store and promoting a positive/productive environment. This position will partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction.
This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment. The role analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met and may require commitment to the company’s asset protection program, promoting the business, and targeting new customer acquisitions. This position involves working with a variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.
The compensation includes an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance; actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-approved channels.
- Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and follow procedures to protect assets.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and secure customer loans.
- Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and reporting.
- Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
- Communicate clearly with employees to convey the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
- The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, climbing, etc.) in accordance with law.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- Need to assist customers in exterior areas when required.
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work in multiple locations as needed.
- Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours a week; hours are based on business needs.
- Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Analytical skills and cash handling experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

- Regular store hours; many stores open 9 AM to 6 PM; many stores closed on Sundays.
- Earned Wage Access program available from day of employment (withdraw up to 50% of earned wages up to seven times per payroll cycle).
- Potential to earn unlimited commission above base rate.
- Paid vacation: 1 week after 6 months, additional week after 1 year, and 2 weeks on each anniversary thereafter (adjusted by state/local requirements).
