This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in fast‑tracking into a store management position. A minimum of 1 year retail management experience is required.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee who has at least six months of store management experience. The trainee will account for day‑to‑day operations, promote a positive and productive environment, and partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop employees, recruit and retain talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. The role includes financial analysis, asset protection, business promotion, new customer acquisition, and product knowledge across a range of merchandise, including apparel, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), etc.

Compensation includes hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a store performance bonus.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers positively and addressing issues quickly.
  • Assist in training pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure all procedures protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection via inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability via communication and goal‑setting.
  • Maintain operating standards meeting or exceeding First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to safeguard loan quality.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees about store mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • Act as Manager on Duty in absence of Store Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform extended periods of standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
  • May be required to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations per business needs.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Will work 45+ hours per week; hours not guaranteed.
  • Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
  • Multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
