TM Receiver

Overall Job Summary
The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy to keep inventory shortages at or below store goals and maximize store sales by receiving and shipping freight within a timely manner. The role involves interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. The TM Receiver also promotes a safe and productive work environment for all team members, customers, and vendors, and adheres to Tractor Supply Company safety training and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
It is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented to fulfill all of the following requirements:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and be able to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
  • Greet the customer.
  • Uncover customer’s needs and wants.
  • Recommend product solutions.
  • Ask to add value & appreciate the customer.
• Perform a combination of duties during 95 percent of your day, including but not limited to:
  • Processing inbound and outbound freight.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory control and adhering to loss prevention standards.
  • Recovering merchandise.
  • Participating in mandatory freight processes.
  • Keeping a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Maintaining, recovering, stocking, and tagging assigned work areas and merchandise displayed outside the store.
  • Operating cash register/computer following cash handling procedures as established by Tractor Supply Company.
  • Ensuring the customer has a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates from the competition.
  • Rotating and disposing dated products.
  • Assembling merchandise.
  • Operating forklift.
  • Operating cardboard baler.
  • Sanitizing and maintaining poultry holding tanks and caring for birds as required.
  • Completing all documentation associated with any of the above job duties.
  • Obtaining required licenses or certifications.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

Shipping/receiving experience preferred but not required; retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge strongly preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

• Basic computer skills/experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically with minimal conflict.

Working Conditions

• Working environment is generally inside with moderate noise.
• Work shifts vary; generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
• Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces; lighting and temperature are adequate.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment and adhere to company safety training and guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Position is non-sedentary.
• Physical and mental stamina and ability to move quickly and safely throughout the store and outdoor areas.
• Ability to operate forklift, use equipment such as dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register; forklift and baler requirements do not apply if under 18.
• Ability to push/pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment.
• Occasional lifting or reaching overhead.
• Move and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
• Frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
• Navigate all areas of the store safely.
• Operate store equipment such as computer, cash register.
• Read, write, and count accurately for documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Process information/merchandise through the point-of-sale system.
• Handle birds/poultry.
• Complete required training and certification including propane dispensing where applicable.
• Travel as required in support of district needs.
