You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the Role

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs.

Center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) is also provided.

How You Will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing the Center Physician's standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation requirements per occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
What You Bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
    Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfaction of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation & Benefits

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $22.69 – $31.20. The range reflects anticipated compensation, but the actual offer may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, licensure, and location. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, holidays, well‑being benefits, sick time, and paid vacation.
