Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down unit with Epic EMR proficiency and every other weekend night shifts.
Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital Step Down unit

• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00

• Expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4

• Floating between units and facilities within the state is required

• Every other weekend shifts are mandatory

• No on-call requirements

• Level II Trauma Center

• Solid navy blue scrubs required for RNs

• Uses Epic as the EMR system

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Step Down patients in a Level II Trauma Center

• Must be willing and able to float between all assigned units and facilities as needed

• Minimal to no time off requests during the assignment; all RTO must be declared up front

• Adherence to facility dress code is required, with no print tops allowed

• Free surface parking is available in designated employee/visitor areas

• Failure to float or honor work order terms may result in contract termination

• Former employees must comply with rehire wait period rules
Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required

• Minimum 2 years of recent Step Down or similar acute care experience required

• Previous experience with Epic EMR required

• Current BLS and other relevant certifications must be provided

• Minimum of two supervisory references from the last three years in a comparable specialty/setting required

• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Former perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler

• Must not live within 50 miles of the facility
