For our state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a LUB L2 Dry Ingredient Blending Trainee.
Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant will become operational in 2025 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026!
This position pays $21 per hour during training, then once certified will make $26 per hour. There is an additional $1 differential for hours worked between 6pm and 6am. Weekly pay.
Summary DescriptionThe Dry Ingredient Blending Trainee is responsible for the accurate mixing, handling, and recording of all information related to dry ingredient batches and application to the cheese. The Dry Ingredient Blending Operator is also responsible for accurate handling, distribution, and recording of bulk cellulose to the processing department.

- Maintain accurate batch records and enter all required information into the MES system as required
- Ability to navigate through the HMI screens, schedule batches, edit batches, schedule product codes and troubleshooting problems
- Accurate and timely blending of powder ingredient batches, including coordinating with cheese supervisor and/or team lead on changeovers
- Accurate and timely blending of Cellulose ingredient batches, including coordinating with processing supervisor and/or team lead on changeovers
- Maintain the Dry Ingredient Blending area, including receiver areas, in a neat and organized manner
- Utilize periodic can checks and mass balance to ensure automatic scale systems are running properly
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, and supervisors
- Follow sanitation procedures of all equipment at shutdown
- Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct
- Ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language
- Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary
- Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs
- Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions
- Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures
- Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes
- Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts
One year of work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment are preferred.
