Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Structural & Architectural scope of work to deliver exceptional results for our clients. The Senior PM is an executive level position, and is expected to identify, propose, close, and manage construction projects and staff. Location & travel details: this is a traveling position, up to 100% of the time. You’ll have opportunities to travel across the US to support infrastructure projects, with potential project sites in various states (NC, VA, GA, TX, FL, IA, WY).

Typical project duration is 6-8 months, with per diem, base pay, and potential vehicle allowance if eligible. Travel home rotation is one weekend per month away from the jobsite.

Responsibilities
  • Develops solutions to ensure that issues never become problems. Studies bid specs carefully, looking for potential issues before the commencement of the project.
  • Develops contingency plans proactively to mitigate potential risks in the event an item of the critical path is delayed.
  • Understands the subcontractor scope and contracts, and identifies opportunities and risks.
  • Ensures every member of the team has a comprehensive Business Development plan to meet and exceed targets.
  • Attends interviews to close new business and participates in industry events to build relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Proactively builds and sustains relationships with targeted clients and subcontractors; recruits new qualified subcontractors.
  • Initiates new projects with architects, engineers, and owners; leads pre-construction/RFP package efforts with estimating.
  • Leads a team of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to deliver exceptional results; manages multiple project teams while maximizing profit and client satisfaction.
  • Ensures project quality control plans are in effect and that punch lists are completed to client satisfaction.
  • Submits project change orders, prepares meeting minutes, and manages WIP and other reporting within required time frames.
  • Collaborates with internal departments (accounting, marketing, business development, estimating) to build strong win-win relationships.
  • Works with on-site Superintendents to deliver high quality and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction. Additional 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a project manager overseeing the Structural & Architectural scope of work for commercial and industrial projects. Preferred 15+ years.
  • Prior experience with data center projects is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Familiarity with local specifications and blueprints; ability to read blueprints.
  • Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and production using P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent, plus Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) and estimating software.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills; high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to multi-task and focus on the big picture while addressing daily issues.
