IT Architect - Scrum Master

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Facilitate work of Scrum Team.
• Coach and guide the team through execution of Agile development practices and remove impediments that hinder project progress.
• Ensure that goals and scope are clear for the teams.
• Facilitate Scrum Events (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective).
• Promote continuous communication and monitor and improve team dynamics.

• Facilitate Agile Ceremonies :
  Lead and coach the team in all standard ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Support SAFe Execution :
  Actively participate in Agile Release Train (ART) events, including PI Planning, Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops, and Scrum of Scrums.
• Remove Impediments :
  Proactively identify and resolve blockers that hinder the team's progress, coordinating with other teams on the ART as necessary.
• Drive Predictability :
  Guide the team in maintaining a healthy, refined backlog and assist the Product Owner in managing stakeholder expectations through transparent metrics.
• Continuous Improvement :
  Utilize flow metrics (Cycle Time, Throughput, WIP) and Velocity Reports to help the team improve their delivery rhythm and technical excellence.
• Tooling & Transparency :
  Maintain high-quality data within Jira and Confluence to ensure progress is visible to all levels of the organization.

• Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

• Certification :
  Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) required. Advanced certifications (A-CSM or SASM) are a plus.
• Technical Skills :
  Expert proficiency in Jira and Confluence for tracking and reporting.
• Mindset :
  Strong commitment to servant leadership, psychological safety, and the "Agile way of working."
• Communication :
  Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to bridge communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Familiarity with Government Health and Human Services (HHS) projects.
• Experience transitioning teams from Waterfall or "Agile-In-Name-Only" to high-performing SAFe teams.
