Primary PurposeImplement, secure, and maintain the district's network and server infrastructure to ensure reliable, high-performance technology services that support instructional and operational needs. This position is responsible for enterprise network configuration, virtualization platforms, compute and storage systems, cloud collaboration environments, and cybersecurity best practices. The Network Engineer collaborates with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient technology solutions.
Qualifications Education and Certifications- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, VMware VCP, Microsoft Associate or Expert certifications, Security+, or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience supporting enterprise network environments
- Experience administering virtualized server environments
- Experience supporting cloud collaboration platforms preferred
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and WAN connectivity
- Experience administering virtual environments including VMware vSphere or equivalent platforms
- Knowledge of compute and storage systems, high availability design, and capacity planning
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace administration
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and security controls
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security features, identity management, and conditional access policies
- Experience supporting or administering Webex Calling or enterprise VoIP systems
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and layered security principles
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to faculty and staff
- Collaborative mindset with strong customer service orientation

- Configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, and WAN connectivity
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and performance issues
- Administer and maintain virtual environments, compute platforms, storage systems, and core infrastructure services
- Perform system updates, maintenance, capacity planning, and performance tuning
- Support and administer Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments
- Implement and manage Microsoft 365 security controls and identity protections
- Support and maintain Webex Calling and related collaboration systems
- Implement cybersecurity best practices across network and server environments
- Maintain secure configurations and monitor for vulnerabilities
- Oversee backup systems and ensure disaster recovery readiness through regular validation and testing
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and district leadership to assess technology needs
- Serve as a technical advisor for infrastructure initiatives and improvements
- Communicate system changes, planned maintenance, and service impacts effectively
- Maintain confidentiality of district data and systems
- Work occasional evenings or weekends as required
