Job Summary / DescriptionTroubleshooting, maintaining, and installing studio and editing equipment, as well as installing and maintaining computer equipment. This is a Monday‑Friday position with occasional weekend and night shifts. The team rotates on call weekly. Tanium experience is a plus. All engineering staff are on call 24/7 in case of emergency.
Duties / Responsibilities- Work with other departments and personnel, using strong people skills to resolve issues quickly.
- Apply expert knowledge of equipment, IT technology systems, and emergency response procedures.
- Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications on station computers. Knowledge of VMware is a plus.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and communicate with departments regarding those regulations.
- Assist in the implementation of capital projects.
- Maintain and operate new and existing equipment, including towers, transmitters, microwave, satellite, IT, and tenant installations.
- Install and remove rack equipment weighing 25–50 pounds (with assistance from another employee).
- Maintain knowledge of the latest operating systems, automation servers, and desktop operating systems (Linux is a plus).
- Knowledge of the engineering aspects of the technical facility, including studio support, post‑editing systems, field production support, and transmission of live / Vmix / OBS events and programs.
- Degree in IT / Broadcast Engineering or related experience is preferred.
- Basic working knowledge of VMware, Linux, and Windows environments.
