Non-Registered Polysomnographer at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Non-Registered Polysomnographer conducts and interprets sleep studies for patients across all age groups, working with minimal supervision to provide quality care. Responsibilities include scoring standard and complex sleep studies, collaborating with healthcare providers, and supporting departmental improvements. Required qualifications include basic life support certification and clinical experience in polysomnography, with preferred certifications in ACLS, PALS, and NRP.

Description

Ability to provide Sleep Studies to Adults, Pediatric, and Neonatal patients while working with minimal supervision to perform and score standard and complex Sleep Studies. Serve as a member of the Sleep Center directly or in directly affect change within the department and encourage competent care, develop individualized intervention, and enhance polysomnography skills. Able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, family members, and other disciplines.

Required Qualifications:

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Complete a minimum of 18 months of clinical experience where the duties performed are primarily polysomnography, OR
  • Complete a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience where the duties performed are primarily polysomnography, and the applicant holds a credential in an allied health field accepted by the BRPT (e.g., nursing, respiratory care, electroneurodiagnostics). Applicants must submit a copy of a certificate or official correspondence from the credentialing agency with their application.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training:
    Successful completion of an accredited course in polysomnographic testing.
  • Provider Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • PALS and NRP Training upon hire.
  • 1 year of experience in hospital setting or an allied health field.
