Phlebotomist
Position
Description:
Draws blood from patients in correctional hospital facility for analysis or other medical purposes.
- Possess skills and knowledge in obtaining blood from venous and capillary sites
- Uses correct procedures to accurately identify patients and specimen
- Completes paperwork and maintains records as needed
- Prepare biological specimens for analysis
- Assists in maintaining proper level of supplies
- Be well organized and able to synchronize duties with other personnel
- Report incidents that are unusual or deficient to immediate supervisor
- Adheres to infection control standards
- Maintains patient and staff confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Navy Enlisted Classification Code: HM
- Army Military Occupational Specialty Code: 68W, 68K
- Air Force Specialty Code: 4T0 X1
