Radiologic Technologist
Position Description This position is responsible for performing essential radiological procedures and for handling the necessary details associated with those procedures; i.e. preparing patients for procedures, processing film, and maintaining records and reports. Work is performed under general supervision. Work is performed independently within established guidelines and procedures. Work is performed in usual clinic conditions; requires a high degree of contact with patients and physicians.
Major/EssentialFunctions
- Complies with Texas Department of Correctional Justice and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Policies and Procedures.
- Prepares patients for procedures: positions patients, operates appropriate equipment to perform x‑ray procedures and then transfers the film digitally.
- Verifies billing as submitted by consultants.
- Orders and maintains supplies and coordinates preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Assists in Medical Records.
- Maintains records and reports on patients; maintains a daily count of patients for monthly reports.
- Ensure data is current and accurate for state inspections.

- Education:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Completion of approved two‑year program in radiological technology. - License/Certification:
Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technology.
