Major/Essential Functions- Assist in establishing funds in the university's financial system (Banner) and terminating fund/FOPS for all assigned funds in accordance with department policy and procedure
- Process, review, monitor and retain accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and conformance to governing regulation and policy. Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all assigned funds.
- Respond to campus inquiries and address accounting issues to support departments and financial managers in their financial management and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Perform compliance reviews, edit checks, and other periodic fund maintenance analysis in accordance with department policy and procedures including, but not limited to, orphan transactions and negative fund balances.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles;
Ability to identify problems, evaluate options and implement solutions;
Ability to communicate effectively in writing for the needs of the audience.
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience OR combination of education and experience to equal five years.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel training or experience.
