The Role We Want You For
As an MEP Project Manager, you will oversee the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and associated construction scopes for Clayco projects. This includes the development of comprehensive MEP scope documents, creating MEP bid packages in the early stages of project planning, and leading subcontractor negotiations. The role also involves providing leadership and guidance to both theaiset design team and clients, ensuring effective document reviews, and addressing scope modifications during construction.
You will serve modificar key liaison between the original scope and any field adjustments, as well as supervise and coordinate the efforts of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and elevator subcontractors on-site for on‑time and on‑budget project completion.
- Plans, and specification analysis, MEP systems interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule.
- Facilitate problem solving between MEP subcontractors during construction.
- Validate design issues — suggest alternative solutions.
- Manage MEP submittals.
- Oversee logging and posting of all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings.
- Oversee scope review, budgeting, and justification of MEP change work orders.
- Oversee quality control process of MEP installations.
- Work with project management team to direct, monitor, and oversee MEP subcontractors.
- Coordinate and administer MEP related materials, systems, and shop drawing submittals.
- Liaison with consultant MEP engineers, inspectors, and relevant staff.
- Ensure MEP subcontractors provide and adhere to relevant quality documentation and records.
- Ensure MEP subcontractors comply with project safety regulations.
- Assist with project planning — hosting coordination meetings, writing work scopes, getting quotes, scheduling work.
- Train and mentor junior members, encouraging training and development through performance management for retention.
- Provide technical input related to contract drawings and documents.
- Contribute to weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 6‑10 years of experience managing MEP projects/scope.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing multiple trades and personalities.
- Working knowledge of architectural, structural, civil documents to understand system integration.
- Good understanding of Specs Divisions and navigation for coordinating responsibilities, testing, and documentation.
- Understanding of building, plumbing, NFPA, mechanical, and life‑safety codes.
- Proficiency with computers, laptops, iPad‑type instruments, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction industry applications.
- Travel required — projects nationwide.
