Position DescriptionThe Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) program director provides specialized expertise in anesthesia education and accreditation to ensure the CRNA program meets the highest academic and professional standards. This role combines advanced knowledge of nurse anesthesia practice with leadership in curriculum development, accreditation readiness, academic quality assurance, and program governance. The CRNA collaborates with faculty, academic leadership, and institutional committees to maintain compliance with national accreditation standards, support program evaluation, and promote a culture of educational excellence and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication, writing, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in academic environments.

Major/Essential Functions Academic and Accreditation Director- Serve as a subject matter expert on CRNA curriculum design, accreditation standards, and evidence-based educational practices.
- Lead and support curriculum development, review and revision to align with COA standards, national certification requirements, and institutional goals.
- Conduct gap analyses, mock accreditation reviews, and documentation assessments to ensure program compliance.
- Collaborate with the Dean, Graduate Department Chair, program faculty, and academic committees to implement continuous improvement plans and monitor progress.
- Provide expert guidance on accreditation reports, self-studies, and site visit preparation.
- Develop and refine CRNA curricula, learning outcomes, and evaluation tools consistent with accreditation criteria and evolving professional standards.
- Integrate simulation, interprofessional education, and innovative teaching methods to strengthen student learning and clinical reasoning.
- Advise on faculty development strategies to support instructional effectiveness and academic scholarship.
- Ensure curricular alignment with the TTUHSC School of Nursing mission, vision, and institutional learning outcomes.
- Provide consultation and training to CRNA faculty on accreditation standards, regulatory updates, and program evaluation processes.
- Support faculty in preparing for accreditation cycles, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Promote a culture of reflective teaching, scholarly practice, and continuous professional development.
- Assist in mentoring new faculty and fostering academic excellence within the CRNA program team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including the TTUHSC School of Medicine Anesthesiology Department to ensure academic integration.
- Serve as a consultant to academic leadership regarding anesthesia education standards, program outcomes, and strategic growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted RN and CRNA licensure with NBCRNA certification.
- Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia or a related field.
