Dental Group of Lubbock is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dedicated team of professionals. Responsibilities
  • Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
  • Take and develop dental X-rays
  • Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral health care instructions
  • Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
  • Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain a sterile working environment
  • Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in electronic dental records systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean dental environment
Qualifications
  • Valid state Dental Hygiene license
  • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
  • Radiology certification
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of dental anatomy
  • Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control procedures
  • Experience with medical imaging equipment and techniques
  • Strong patient assessment skills to identify oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health care practices
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
Skills
  • Proficient in using Open Dental for managing patient records and scheduling appointments
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security
  • Competent in medical documentation to accurately record patient information and treatment plans
  • Understanding of infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile dental environment
  • Familiarity with dental imaging techniques for capturing high-quality radiographs
