Overview
Dental Group of Lubbock is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dedicated team of professionals. Our office is equipped with the latest dental technology, making appointments a breeze for both our Hygienists and our patients. - Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral health care instructions
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain a sterile working environment
- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in electronic dental records systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean dental environment
- Valid state Dental Hygiene license
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Radiology certification
- Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of dental anatomy
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control procedures
- Experience with medical imaging equipment and techniques
- Strong patient assessment skills to identify oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health care practices
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Proficient in using Open Dental for managing patient records and scheduling appointments
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security
- Competent in medical documentation to accurately record patient information and treatment plans
- Understanding of infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile dental environment
- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques for capturing high-quality radiographs
