Position Description
Performs routine administrative support or technical program assistance work. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions- Provides administrative support to the Assistant Vice President for Research - HCBL that includes organizing and managing schedules and handling communications.
- Provides coordination and support for all laboratories within the HCBL.
- Maintain records and other documentation laboratory compliance as required by federal select agent regulations.
- Produces reports and grant deliverable documentation in coordination with AVP and laboratory personnel.
- Handles HCBL purchases through Procurement and works with laboratory directors and managers to ensure timely ordering of laboratory reagents.
- Manages and reconcile travel for HCBL personnel and reconcile monthly procurement cards.
- Works with laboratory personnel to ensure the timely scheduling of instrument maintenance and service contracts across all laboratories within the HCBL.
- Proficiency in quickly adapting to any given situation to maintain a high level of efficiency and professionalism.
- All other duties as assigned.
Completion of high school or the equivalent. Five years office experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Must take and maintain Security Risk Assessment by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Bioterrorism Risk Assessment Group (BRAG).
Preferred Qualifications- Associate's degree in clerical/administrative area.
- Working knowledge of Banner, Cognos, Chrome River, and Kenexa programs.
- Previous experience in higher education, fund accounting, state and federal grants, and/or financial reporting.
Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations are responsibilities of all TTU employees.
