We’re looking for a hard‑working, passionate Optometrist ready to provide our customers with the best eyecare in the business. At Specsavers Lowestoft you’ll join a community‑focused team full of people from all walks of life and all levels of experience.

Store

Lowestoft is a coastal town in East Suffolk. Our store is a short 5‑minute walk from the wide sandy beaches, the perfect place to spend your lunch break! We have a train station in the town, making travel to surrounding locations easy.

We are passionate about the clinical development of our team, and as our new Optometrist we want to support you with extra courses and specialisms that interest you. Whatever your ambitions—from WOPEC qualifications and independent prescribing to paediatric accreditations or enhanced optical services—we’ll do everything we can to help you be the best clinician you can be. We have close connections with our local Newmedica and can offer opportunities to work closely with consultant ophthalmologists for further development and learning.

You can also gain experience with supervision; we have a pre‑reg every year and would love to get you involved in the process.

Benefits

As well as all the support you need and great training and development opportunities, we have a whole load of benefits on offer for you to enjoy:

  • Full time to include 1 weekend day – 1 full weekend off per month
  • From £70,000 per annum
  • Excellent development opportunities
  • Pension contribution
  • Professional fees paid
  • Specsavers Perks – discounted benefits scheme
  • Annual subscription to the “Headspace” app
  • WeCare – UK confidential employee helpline
  • Outstanding clinical and professional development opportunities
  • Support with IP, other higher accreditations and Pathway
  • Access to latest clinical technology and equipment
  • Support with CPD points
  • Fun and welcoming team
Requirements

We do need you to have a few skills to get started in this role. Firstly, you’ll need to be registered as a member of the General Optical Council (keeping this up to date). You’ll also need to be confident and passionate about providing the best customer service and be able to supervise our pre‑reg optometrists.

Got all of these? We can’t wait for you to apply!
