About the role
The Offshore Wind Turbine Technician is responsible, with others, to provide maintenance, servicing and inspection of wind turbines to ensure the assets are maintained in a safe, efficient and cost‑effective manner, maximising the commercial value within compliant requirements.
Responsibilities- Encourage and join colleagues in building and maintaining a positive safety culture at the site.
- Carry out fault finding, maintenance and servicing of wind turbines, including annual servicing, reactive and proactive maintenance, inspections, retrofits and main component exchanges.
- Work proactively and in a flexible manner within a small remote team to minimise failures and maximise the performance of the wind farm.
- Be prepared to have a flexible approach to working hours around the weather and workload, and be willing to travel to other sites within the fleet.
- Support all areas of site operations, working on projects, spares and other non‑routine works.
- Working Pattern:
- The role will be on a rotational shift basis; 7 days on / 7 days off, ‘core’ hours to be based on a 37‑hour week average over a two‑week rotation but working up to a 12‑hour shift each day, including some overtime.
- This role is considered a flexible role with periods of Service Operations Vessel (SOV) deployment as well as Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) deployment for the appointed candidate. When the SOV is at Gabbard the shift pattern will change to 14 days on / 14 days off to match with the SOV operation.
- Wind turbine technician experience related to O&M or similar heavy industrial background, ideally experienced in multi‑system complex fault finding.
- A sound understanding of HSSE systems, to establish a safe work environment, including team leadership skills.
- Existing WTSR Authorisations such as CT or AT / knowledge of similar Safe Systems of Work.
- Effective teamwork & communication skills (verbal, written & IT) to allow safe, high‑quality work.
- Positive & engaged attitude towards improving work processes and practices.
- Commercial awareness of wind generation and importance of key performance indicators.
- A full UK clean driving licence.
- Comfortable working at height and at sea.
- Depending on the candidate, comprehensive in‑role training will be provided to support professional development, including technical training, QHSE development, and leadership or management courses.
