Payzant Building Products is seeking a dynamic Credit Manager to take ownership of our credit and collections function. You'll play a key role in protecting the company's financial health while building strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

Position Summary
As our Credit Manager, you will oversee the company's credit granting process, manage accounts receivable, and lead collection efforts to minimize risk while supporting strong customer relationships. You'll manage one direct report and work closely with Sales, Operations, and Senior Leadership to ensure our credit practices align with company goals and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve new credit applications, partnering with Sales to balance revenue growth with responsible risk management.
- Maintain and enhance credit policies and procedures, driving continuous improvement.
- Oversee accounts receivable aging, ensuring timely collections and proactively managing credit exposure.
- Monitor lien deadlines for ongoing customer projects, working with legal counsel to ensure filings are completed within required timeframes.
- Manage account delinquencies through clear communication, structured collection strategies, and negotiated payment arrangements when necessary.
- Oversee collection efforts (calls, emails, and formal demand notices) with the support of the AR Collections Specialist.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the AR Collections Specialist to ensure strong performance and accountability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in credit and collections, ideally within retail or building products industries.
- Experience with property lien processes and deadlines.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and accounts receivable management.
- Confident communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and organizational abilities.
