Youth Outreach Engagement Specialist - Lead Case Manager - full-time day shift

Pay Range $27-$29 per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Youth Outreach Engagement Specialist - Lead Case Manager, who will be responsible for outreaching and engaging homeless and at-risk youth and young adults (YYA) within the North Middlesex and Merrimack Valley regions. The Youth Outreach Engagement Specialist will provide direct care services both at the Youth Opportunity Center and within the community, meeting young people where they are at in supporting youth to access basic survival needs, connections with mental health and substance use services and developing positive life skills towards stabilization.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Work with Homeless Youth and Young adults (16-24) with a trauma-informed/strength based lens
  • Supervise outreach efforts conducted by Youth Services staff
  • Lead outreach trainings for Youth Services staff with a trauma-informed lens
  • Complete street outreach with Youth Services staff and partnering agencies
  • Develop relationships with local agency partners and communities
  • Data entry for Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS)
  • Participation in city, state and agency meetings
  • Develop/Collaborate Engagement Efforts for youth and young adults
  • Support The Mill You day program as an extension of outreach services
  • Support in implementing youth groups focused on stabilization and healthy lifestyles
  • Support youth and young adults within the community as needed (e.g.: attending appointments, working on independence/life skills, etc.)
  • Uphold the values of CTI - Equity, Integrity, Compassion

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Prior relevant experience
  • Strong community organizing skills
  • Sensitivity to the needs of diverse, low-income populations
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and negotiation skills
  • Effective customer service, interpersonal and communications skills- verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Desire to work with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals
  • Knowledge and experience working with low income, culturally diverse, homeless and at-risk youth and families
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low-income individuals and families
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills in basic computer software and data collection systems
  • Excellent crisis management skills
  • Valid Massachusetts drivers' license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Khmer, English/Portuguese)
