A global, industry‑leading manufacturer of precision‑engineered components seeks to hire a Materials & Process Supervisor to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of material and process (M&P) specifications at their flagship production operation in the Boston, MA area (30 minutes North). Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position serves as the company’s subject matter expert on AMS/SAE, ASTM, Mil‑Spec, and customer standards—ensuring all materials and processes meet stringent quality, performance, and regulatory requirements.
This is a full‑time, permanent/direct‑hire opportunity.
- Develop, write, and revise internal material and process specifications that align with AMS, ASTM, Mil‑Spec, and customer standards.
- Serve as the company’s authority on material and process standards, providing technical guidance to engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with all specification and certification requirements through document review and audits.
- Lead compliance and audit activities, supporting internal, customer, and regulatory reviews related to material and process standards.
- Manage engineering change processes for material specifications, driving continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
- Support new product development initiatives by managing testing, qualification, and specification activities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and archival systems for all material and process data, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Candidate must be US Citizen.
- Bachelor’s degree required (engineering, material science, other technical disciplines preferred).
- 4+ years of applicable experience within manufacturing setting(s).
- Deep familiarity with AMS/SAE, ASTM, and Mil‑Spec standards.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment.
