This being a promotional opportunity, only current UML Employees within the same Bargaining unit are eligible to apply for this position. The Manager of Academic Technology is a staff member of the Academic Technology Department providing support and oversight for all areas of academic technology on campus. As a subject matter expert in academic technology, this position is the lead architect of the university’s use of Instructional Technology tools within or exterior to the Learning Management System (LMS).
Under the direction of their manager, the Manager of Academic Technology actively participates in long‑range goal planning and objectives. This position will also significantly contribute to identifying emerging academic technology, its value to the university, and implementation planning. This lead Instructional Technology role requires exemplary customer service skills and a comprehensive knowledge of the academic technology landscape. The primary interface to the academic community as it relates to academic technology.
Requires significant project work with no supervision and a thorough understanding of project timelines and deliverables.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the field of Instructional Technology or a related field within education.
- Ten to fifteen years relevant experience in a higher education or Instructional Technology environment.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as an LMS administrator, including experience with LMS integrations, data feeds, and automation.
- Demonstrated experience with Blackboard/Canvas Administration.
- Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction or Instructional Technology highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and organizational skills.
- Strategic use of applications and tools for enhancing teaching and learning.
- Recommend and select applications to support and empower faculty and students.
- Requires extraordinary customer service skills.
- Ability to create and present training sessions for faculty and staff.
- Ability to work closely with faculty to deliver quality supplemental instructional resources across all disciplines.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, strategize, and deliver projects.
- Works with little to no supervision.
- Ability to develop a technology integration plan, from concept to implementation while working closely with end users for all Instructional Technology systems.
This being a promotional opportunity, only current UML Employees within the same Bargaining unit are eligible to apply for this position. This is a full-time, benefited, SEIU union position in grade P21. Anticipated salary based on experience and range.
Note:
minimum $94,293, 25th quartile $108,437, midpoint $122,581, 75th quartile $136,725.
