Job Description

We are seeking a Data Center Site Lead to oversee daily operations within a mission-critical data center environment in Lowell, MA. This role combines hands‑on technical leadership with team oversight, ensuring operational continuity, safety compliance, and execution of infrastructure build and support activities.

The Site Lead will serve as the primary on‑site point of contact and will coordinate across cross‑functional teams including networking, server operations, and infrastructure support. This individual will lead technicians, prioritize workloads, manage escalations, and ensure all builds, installations, decommissions, and troubleshooting activities meet defined standards and SOPs.

This is a fast‑paced, physically active environment requiring both technical depth and strong leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate thrives in high‑availability settings and is passionate about operational excellence, documentation accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data center technicians.
  • Prioritize and distribute daily workload across the team.
  • Act as the primary on‑site point of contact for operational activities.
  • Direct rack/stack builds and review build documentation for accuracy.
  • Manage escalations and provide advanced troubleshooting support.
  • Coordinate operational tasks across infrastructure and networking teams.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, SOPs, and escalation protocols.
  • Oversee server hardware installation, deing, and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in ticketing systems (Service Now/Jira).
  • Monitor environmental, power, and cooling standards within the facility.
Required Experience / Skills
  • 8+ years of experience as a technical and people leader.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in a data center, NOC, or infrastructure support environment.
  • Strong understanding of server, storage, and networking hardware.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS fundamentals (basic command‑line usage).
  • Knowledge of rack/stack procedures, structured cabling, power, and cooling best practices.
  • Experience working in 24/7 operational environments with shift flexibility.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical installation tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.
  • Understanding of IP networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms (Service Now, Jira).
  • Exposure to monitoring platforms and basic scripting.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, or vendor‑specific credentials.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent hands‑on experience will be considered.
