Job Description

The successful candidate will work at local Contract Manufacturer (CM) on a daily basis. The candidate will work closely with the local MACOM operations teams to ensure CEM & supplier quality is excellent to support operation's needs. The role will be primarily focused on supporting the quality of our existing Passive and Diode product lines, and will include products transfers and new product introductions to be manufactured at our local CMs.

The product portfolio includes both assembled and bare die products. The key process technologies, are welding, staking, eutectic and epoxy die attach and wedge and ribbon bonding.

Key responsibilities
  • Be first line of contact for quality issues with the CM and components suppliers
  • Monitor and participate in New Product Development projects including performing quality evaluations
  • Utilize internal SCAR system to ensure the CM is driving to root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions
  • Using the CMs SCAR report be able to create a redacted version which is suitable for sharing with MACOMs end customer, when SCAR relate to a customer issue
  • Monitor quality levels of manufactured products and take appropriate action when necessary to ensure a high level of quality
  • Identify and initiate actions that will result in continuous improvement of the Quality System, products and processes
  • Support Production personnel by resolving process and material related quality problems
  • Work with material suppliers and the MACOM planning/purchasing teams to ensure consistent material quality
  • Perform audits of the CEM and other suppliers as required
  • Support cost reduction and process improvement projects through the use of various Six Sigma and Quality tools such as FMEA, process capability, Gage R&R, SPC, pareto analysis, and proficient in the use of other tools including Minitab
Key skills and behaviours required
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Be a strong independent voice for MACOM quality with the team at the CM
  • A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills to be able to influence the local team and identify and drive solutions
  • Be pragmatic, a closer, someone who has the ability to identify the outcome or result required and the quickest path to get there and who does not allow issues to drag on
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
  • BS in technical discipline or equivalent
  • At least 5 years experience in a Quality, Manufacturing or NPI Engineering role in a high volume electronics manufacturing environment
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing assembly and test would be desirable
  • Ability and willingness to travel between suppliers if required
  • Self-motivated, hard-working, fast learner and well organized
  • Mature, highly-responsible, a good team player with good presentation skills
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken
