General SummaryThe Corporate Education Program Manager is a highly professional and innovative individual, working in collaboration with the workforce development and advisory boards at the College. They will be responsible for sales, development, and implementation of revenue-generating education and training programs for area businesses and organizations (customers) served by the College either on-campus, online or on-site. The position requires an ability to facilitate productive and on-going relationships between the College and customers, to maintain knowledge of College teaching and learning resources, and to identify resources needed to respond to customer needs.
The Program Manager must be goal and outcome-oriented, and proactively identify and generate developments and opportunities to meet emerging education and training needs.
- Assess training needs in collaboration with external company contacts and recommend appropriate education and training solutions.
- Prepare contract training proposals using approved fee schedules for customers.
- Work with Resource Development to develop a variety of grants including Workforce Training Fund Grant proposals and training budgets for area organizations that pay into the employer tax fund.
- Identify and recruit technical and non-technical faculty through a variety of sources, including Human Resources, internet, newspapers, Academic Deans, training consultants and local schools.
- Develop customized programs to meet education and training needs.
- Work with customers and faculty to facilitate the designing of curriculum and to develop, implement, and evaluate new courses and workshops.
- Develop work plans and monitors program progress on the delivery of services.
- Troubleshoot customer issues as they arise.
- Order text books for scheduled courses and workshops; deliver text books and materials to customer sites.
- Perform all duties associated with opening and closing classes, including registering students, introducing instructors, conducting instructor and course evaluations, and distributing certificates of completion.
- Support faculty in all aspects of implementation, including disciplinary incidents, scheduling conflicts, ordering materials, and coordination of photocopied materials.
- Prepare employer customers and training program invoices; reviews and confirms status of revenue collection.
- Prepare, edit, and review teacher manuals.
- Review and sign CORI and SORI Acknowledgement Forms for students and faculty in certain programs. In collaboration with Human Resources and CORI committee members, participates in meetings with individuals to discuss positive reports.
- Develop, market, sell and manage contract training programs, courses, and workshops to potential customers.
- Cold call and meet with potential and existing customers at their worksites to sell education and training programs by developing an understanding of their strategic and business challenges and needs and develop education and training solutions
- Meet yearly individual revenue and department goals.
- Manage the customer relationship from marketing through program execution and evaluation.
- Find/generate company leads for sales prospecting.
- Plan and implement customer appreciation events; plan and execute formal, information sessions at the college for existing and potential customers.
- Attend community networking events to promote MCC contract training.
- Promote and maintain responsive community relations including working with Chambers of Commerce, trade associations, etc.
