Warehouse Technician / Back Up Truck Driver

Northwest Arkansas Food Bank is looking for a dedicated Warehouse Technician / Back Up Truck Driver.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Technician / Truck Driver utilizes NWAFB equipment to pick up, receive, store, and deliver goods, supplies, and equipment. The role adheres to food safety standards, provides excellent customer service, and cross‑trains to assist with other tasks.

Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities
  • Safely pick up, deliver, or transfer goods and document transported items.
  • Assist with unloading incoming trucks, checking in, tagging products, and filling customer orders.
  • Accept deliveries, unpack products, and load shelves.
  • Pick and pull product orders.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Responsible for inbound/outbound shipping and receiving interactions.
  • Monitor security and inventory; conduct counts and maintain records.
  • Notify management of low stock or discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper storage to prevent damage.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely.
  • Maintain equipment and report malfunctions or hazards.
  • Support team members with various tasks as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Related Experience
  • A high school diploma or GED (required).
  • Previous warehouse or distribution center experience (preferred).
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and coverage under the organization’s auto insurance (required).
  • Forklift certification (preferred).
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Commitment to NWAFB’s mission and professionalism toward individuals experiencing food insecurity.
  • Knowledge of warehouse practices, including HACCP principles and food safety standards.
  • Understanding of product quality maintenance for safe distribution.
  • Proficiency in handling and distributing materials, interpreting documents, and organizing items.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated attendance and punctuality.
  • Time‑management and task‑prioritization skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to sort and place materials systematically to optimize efficiency.
  • Ability to safely operate a non‑CDL refrigerated 25,999 GVW box truck.
Supervisory Responsibilities And Interactions With Others

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but will interact daily with coworkers and the public.
