* The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of a building or area. Duties can vary from day to day and a maintenance schedule may be implemented so time management skills are required. Building Maintenance Technicians need to have a good knowledge of building skills including HVAC, plumbing, drywall installation, painting, and general building repair. Also, the incumbent will need to be adept at using a variety of hand and electrical tools.

This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.

* Key Responsibilities:

* - Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the building

- Calibrate instruments and tools required for job responsibilities

- Maintain fire, carbon monoxide, smoke and other safety systems within the structure

- Evacuate building in the event of an emergency

- Maintain corporate safety procedures at all times and comply with access control regulations

- Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects

- Receive and respond to tenant reports of mechanical or maintenance issues on their premises

- Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance

* Minimum Qualification:

* + Minimum 18 years of age and a high school diploma or GED, or currently enrolled in a technical degree program in good standing, and up to 3 years of general building maintenance experience; ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed

+ Capable of basic installation and repairs to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, custodial, and other areas as needed

+ Must have reasonable means of transportation to get to and from work. Position is considered emergency response to respond to needs on campus even in inclement weather
