Healthcare Administration
Provides registration and scheduling for patients. Obtains and verifies patient information regarding Medicaid, Medicare, Sliding Scale, Workman’s Compensation and Private insurance. Processes and files admission records and acts as a liaison with patients, family members or responsible party. Performs duties involved in receiving payments from patients, accounting for and balancing daily cash. Performs other tasks as requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Answers incoming clinic telephone calls and directs to the appropriate person or department.
- Interfaces with patients and families, physicians and staff.
- Keeps all patient information confidential in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Registers patients and processes their paperwork.
- Enters patient registration information into computer and routes printed copy to designated department.
- Obtains signed statement/consent from patient to protect clinic's interests.
- Explains clinic regulations, such as cost of service, amount of co-pay due at time of service.
- Collects monies due and documents in billing system.
- Escorts patient or arranges for escort to departments within the hospital as needed.
- Balances daily cash.
- Collects email information from patients for clinic surveys.
- Scans daily patient documents/records.
- Contacts patients for address corrections on returned mail.
- Floats to offsite clinics when needed.
- Performs registration and scheduling for patients, using AIDET, ICARE, and excellent customer service.
- Obtains and verifies patient information regarding Medicaid, Medicare, Sliding Scale, Workman’s Compensation and Private insurance.
- Explains clinic regulations, such as cost of service, amount of co-pay due at time of service.
- Performs duties involved in receiving payments from patients, accounting for and balancing daily cash.
- Runs daily reports for missed eligibility and MSP demographic errors/registration census edits.

Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesOrganization
Computer skills
Communication skills - oral/written
One year office/clinical experience in a medical setting preferred, or recent training in a similar field.
EducationHigh School graduate or equivalent.
