Job Description
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Bag groceries at checkout, striving for at least five items per bag without damage.
- Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
- Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bascarts for checkout.
- Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
- Return merchandise to shelves, gather and return bascarts, and clean spills and trash inside and outside the store.
- Handle seasonal merchandise, understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks.
- Reinforce safety programs, comply with safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment, answer customer questions, and adhere to laws and company policies.
- Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments, manage conflicts, and act with honesty and integrity.
- Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer Service skills
- Effective communication skills
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Retail experience preferred but not necessary
