Job Overview
Plasma Center Nurse – LPN at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform duties as a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. The role includes assessing donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory tests, and notifying donors of unsuitable results.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, and physical examination.
- Conduct blood testing, review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE), and manage laboratory test results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordination with the Center Physician and emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues and provide center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS).
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate follow‑up evaluations with occupational health/ER as needed.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus graduate-level nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified as LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State requisites for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of the FDA‑approved training required for Bio Life Medical Support Specialists.
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
The U.S. hourly wage range for this position is $26.15 – $35.96, dependent on qualifications and experience. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness benefits, and up to 80 hours of sick time annually. New hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
