Job Title: Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider
Location: Northpoint Colorado (Adult inpatient in Loveland, CO)
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8am–5pm
Compensation: $70–$95/hour
Position SummaryThe Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider will provide consultation, medical and administrative direction to subordinate medical and support staff in various treatment settings (inpatient and outpatient). This role includes direct patient care, including diagnostic assessment, preventative and educational services, and medication evaluation and management, in accordance with best care practices, industry standards, organizational guidelines, and state and federal laws. The APP will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team and will require extensive internal and external communication with staff at all levels, leadership, physicians, vendors, and other professional colleagues.
EssentialResponsibilities and Duties
- Provide advanced medical and psychiatric services consistent with ethical guidelines and Northpoint policies and procedures
- Conduct health assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and medical exams
- Medication evaluation and initiation and short-term management of prescribed medications
- Order and interpret lab tests for patients prior to and/or during prescription management
- Consult with physicians and providers regarding ongoing medical care, maintenance and disease prevention
- Case management and engagement in education processes
- Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to the multidisciplinary team
- Document information regarding patient care and behavior per policies and procedures
- Participate in patient treatment planning and implementation under the direction of the Medical Director
- Utilize de-escalation skills to maintain safety for patients and staff
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in treatment plan development and discharge planning
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and licensure scope
- Monitor patients to continually assess needs and facilitate medical treatment
- Document assessments, diagnoses, progress notes, roundings, and other planning items timely
- Maintain professional boundaries with patients
- Oversee and participate in quality assurance and compliance activities
- Provide medical updates to utilization review and managed care representatives
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality per policies and standards of care
- Other medically appropriate services and special projects as assigned
- Master’s Degree in Nursing with specialty from an accredited program
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state of service, with prescriptive privileges
- Physician Assistant (PA-C + CAQ)
- Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate
- Valid National Provider Identification (NPI) number
- Current and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Knowledge of computer and electronic medical records systems
- Enthusiasm and passion for working with people, with a drive to improve lives
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience required; preferably one (1) year inpatient residential experience
- Maintain applicable state licensure requirements throughout employment
- Ability to work with diverse populations and possess interpersonal skills for treatment in area of specialty
- Strong boundary setting and ability to build rapport with patients
- Adherence to ethical standards of licensure governing board
- Excellent organizational abilities and written/oral communication skills
- Attention to detail, patient service orientation, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle confidential material and interact with individuals at all levels
- Multitasking, prioritization, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Critical thinking and the ability to analyze complex information
