As a Certified Patient Care Assistant PCA/CNA on the resource team you will bring your experience and passion for health care to our Northern Colorado Teams! You will be an active and engaged change agent; dedicated to the needs of our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care; on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records; and provides unit support functions to improve efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
  • Assists with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, and nutritional intake as needed to promote patient health.
  • Collects patient specimens and data (vital signs, input/output, and other delegated measurements) per unit/facility policy; documents objective data and communicates status to other caregivers.
  • Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in patient health status; promotes continuity of care by communicating status to the care team.
  • Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, including blood draws, foley catheter removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring, under supervision.
  • Provides receptionist/clerical support to maintain efficient department operations and facilitates problem resolution.
  • Maintains complete patient records (admission, transfer, discharge, progress notes, consent forms) and ensures chart forms are filed or scanned; maintains patient education materials and assists in ordering patient specimens.
  • Maintains supplies and tracks electronic equipment (e.g., patient , laptops); ensures equipment is accounted for and functional.
  • May assist with transporting patients (including pre-operative and immediate post-operative to the ICU) and participates in OR room turnover as assigned.
  • Works under supervision on an assigned unit in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on customer service; interacts with staff, patients, families and physicians.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
    • Current BLS certification is required.
    • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers. In Tucson:
      Current CNA in state of practice is required for new hires; existing Tucson incumbents may not transfer out of their geographical market without meeting the CNA requirement.
    • 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred (hospital or physician office setting) or customer service experience; excellent organizational and communication skills; working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy.
    • ECG/EEG knowledge: minimum passing score of 85% on relevant test with identification of lethal cardiac dysrhythmias and epileptiform activity; or completion of a unit-approved... electrocardiogram or electroencephalographic interpretation course, or on-the-job training.

    Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG-related settings in Arizona may require an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and related affidavits at hire.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Arizona LNA licensure preferred.
    • Recent healthcare experience preferred.
    • Successful completion of an approved unit secretary program preferred.
    • Additional related education/experience preferred.
