Market Manager – 10‑month seasonal position (
less than 30 hrs per week
) in Loveland, Colorado. Salary: $17.33–$23.40 per hour. The position remains open until filled.

Seasonal Employment Time Frames
  • Opening & review of vendor applications (~Jan 15–Apr 1): 8–10 hrs/week
  • Pre‑Market Season (~Apr 1–Jun 1): 20–25 hrs/week
  • Market Season (Jun 1–Oct 1): 25–29 hrs/week
  • Post‑Market Season (Oct 1–Oct 31): 10–15 hrs/week
Essential Functions Market Operations Management
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day operations at the market site, including vendor assignment, booth logistics, volunteer management, public interaction, fee collection and documentation.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate seasonal activities such as music performances, community groups, food trucks and sponsorship booths.
  • Develop relationships with vendors, ensure timely communication, resolve issues, and monitor compliance with regulations.
  • Solicit new vendors, screen applications, monitor product quality, and provide ongoing support to maximize vendor success.
Food Assistance Programs
  • Operate SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks programs, ensuring vendor compliance and shopper education.
  • Serve as liaison with the Colorado Department of Human Services and Live Well Colorado.
Market Promotion
  • Create content and photos for marketing plans, maintain the market website and social media accounts, and manage social media presence.
  • Assist with signage, banners, flyers, and local media promotion to increase market visibility.
Finances
  • Maintain basic financial records, perform bookkeeping, reconcile vendor fees, and manage invoice processing and vendor fines.
Supervision
  • Oversee seasonal market staff, schedule coverage, and ensure completion of daily tasks at the Market Manager tent.
Other Job Functions
  • Assist with additional special events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Oversee tactical operations of support or trade employees.
  • Recommend personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
  • Champion and embody the organization’s mission, vision, values, and culture.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or GED (required).
  • At least 2 years of experience in market operations management or equivalent duties.
Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification required (or to be obtained within 60 days of hire).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of farmers’ markets.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Diplomatic collaboration with diverse groups.
  • Leadership, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and excellent customer service.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations with patience and sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Market Management software.
  • Basic knowledge of event coordination and logistics.
  • Confidence in understanding and interpreting budgets.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Frequent minimal physical effort typical of clerical work; primarily sedentary with occasional light lifting.
  • Frequent light to moderate effort involving standing, walking, and repetitive hand positions.
  • Frequent moderate effort, repeating work from ladders or awkward positions; handling 25–50 lb objects.
  • Frequent exposure to hazards in general office environments with minimal injury risk.
  • Exposure to heat, noise, and outdoor elements during market operations.
  • Occasional exposure to routine office noise and equipment.
Additional Working Demands and Conditions
  • Work involving walking, standing, stooping, stretching, or lifting, with exertion of 20–50 pounds.
  • Exposure to outdoor elements (extreme heat, cold, wet, or windy conditions).
