Operating Department Practitioner​/Anaesthetic Nurse Band 5

Band 5 Nurse/Theatre Practitioner/ODP – operating theatre team at County Hospital Louth, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT).

The successful candidate will rotate through anaesthetics, recovery and scrub to provide flexibility within the service. Working hours are nominally 08:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday, with expectations to travel to other trust sites to support safe staffing levels as required.

The Operating Department has two theatres offering day‑case services for Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Breast, Gynaecological Day Case, Urology, Maxillo‑Facial and Orthopaedic surgery, in line with the Recovery phase post COVID.

• Work as part of the multi‑professional theatre team to provide patient care during clinical services.
• Plan and deliver own workload, organising equipment resources according to service demands and in accordance with policies and protocols.
• Carry out continuous professional development through post‑registration study.
• Work on own initiative, maintaining compliance with legal requirements, acts, policies, procedures, guidelines and the code of professional conduct.

• Theatre‑experienced ODP/Nurse with knowledge of health and safety, infection control, and moving and handling.
• Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with all members of the multi‑professional team.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is a teaching hospital that has joined the Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust to form the Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG). The trust provides all major specialties and a 24‑hour major accident and emergency service.
