Biller / Medical Coder

Location:

• Medical Coding:
  Review medical records and assign accurate CPT, ICD, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Billing & Claims:
  Prepare, submit, and track claims to insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, private) and patients.
• Denial Management:
  Investigate and correct rejected claims, initiating appeals when necessary.
• Patient Accounts:
  Handle patient billing questions, explain charges, and set up payment plans.
• Insurance Verification:
  Check patient eligibility and benefits before services.
• Record Management:
  Maintain accurate patient billing and coding records within EHR/billing software.

• Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulations, and software.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure documentation supports coding.
• Ensure confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA.
• Track billing metrics and audit records for accuracy.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Proficiency with computers, EHR systems, and billing software.
• Good communication and customer service for interacting with patients and insurers.
