Essential Functions
Operates light, medium and heavy vehicles, power tools, trucks, snow plows, salt and brine spreaders, grass cutting and other equipment. Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of streets, sidewalks, vacant lots and alleys, and under supervisory authority transports employees, equipment, tools and power tools to and from work sites.
Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsMeets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work. Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting. Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements.
Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or the equivalent. One year of experience operating trucks, working with motor vehicles or small tools and equipment.
Other MinimumsMust submit to and pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the Department of Transportation. Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA. Must be on 24 hour call. Must possess and maintain a valid driver s license.
EquivalencyAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Special RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement or obtain within three months of employment.
- Hourly Rate: Starting at $22.44 per hour
- Pay Progression:
- Step 1:$23.56/hour – 0-3 Months
- Step 2:$24.52/hour - 3-6 Months
- Step 3:$25.20/hour – 6+ Months
- Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement: $1.15 per hour
