Equipment Operator-SWMS

Responsibilities

Operate light, medium, and heavy vehicles, power tools, trucks, snow plows, salt and brine spreaders, grass cutting and other equipment. Perform manual labor. Meet attendance standards, including mandatory overtime. Spend prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping, climbing, and exposed to the elements. Lift and carry items up to 100 pounds as part of a team.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience operating garbage packer truck, haul truck, wood‑chipper, water truck, or other heavy equipment.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment and random alcohol and drug tests required by DOT.
• Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA.
• Must be on 24‑hour call and work a varied schedule.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

• Hourly Rate:
  Starting at $19.53 per hour.
• Pay Progression
  • Step 1: $23.56/hour – 0‑3 months
  • Step 2: $24.52/hour – 3‑6 months
  • Step 3: $25.20/hour – 6+ months
• Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement: $1.15 per hour.
