The Assistant Golf Professional plays a key role in the daily operation of the golf department, supporting tournament operations, player development initiatives, merchandising, and overall member engagement. The ideal candidate is a PGA Associate who has completed Level I of the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program
, is well-versed in modern golf technology and programming, and is committed to long-term professional growth.

• PGA Associate in good standing with the PGA of America
• Completion of Level I of the PGA PGM Program required
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Operation 36
• Golf Genius
• Golf shop merchandising and retail operations
• Prior experience in a private club or high-level golf facility preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

• Assist with daily golf operations, including tee sheet management, pace of play, and on-course experience
• Lead and support tournaments, leagues, and member events using Golf Genius
• Provide professional, welcoming service in the golf shop and throughout the club
• Enforce club policies and rules with consistency and professionalism

• Actively support and help administer Operation 36 programming, including clinics, on-course experiences, and long-term player development pathways
• Provide private instruction, group clinics, and beginner programs as appropriate
• Support junior golf, adult programming, and player engagement initiatives

Assist with all aspects of golf shop merchandising operations, including:

• Inventory control and receiving
• Visual merchandising and product presentation
• Brand standards and display execution
• Point-of-sale operations and member service
• Support seasonal buying strategies and merchandising plans

• Build strong, professional relationships with members through consistent engagement and personalized service
• Communicate clearly and effectively with members, staff, and club leadership
• Represent Big Spring Country Club in a manner consistent with its values, traditions, and reputation

• Continue progress through the PGA PGM Program beyond Level I
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education
• Contribute to a team-oriented culture emphasizing mentorship, accountability, and continuous improvement
