Position SummaryThe Assistant Golf Professional plays a key role in the daily operation of the golf department, supporting tournament operations, player development initiatives, merchandising, and overall member engagement. The ideal candidate is a PGA Associate who has completed Level I of the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program
, is well-versed in modern golf technology and programming, and is committed to long-term professional growth.
- PGA Associate in good standing with the PGA of America
- Completion of Level I of the PGA PGM Program required
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Operation 36
- Golf Genius
- Golf shop merchandising and retail operations
- Prior experience in a private club or high-level golf facility preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Assist with daily golf operations, including tee sheet management, pace of play, and on-course experience
- Lead and support tournaments, leagues, and member events using Golf Genius
- Provide professional, welcoming service in the golf shop and throughout the club
- Enforce club policies and rules with consistency and professionalism
- Actively support and help administer Operation 36 programming, including clinics, on-course experiences, and long-term player development pathways
- Provide private instruction, group clinics, and beginner programs as appropriate
- Support junior golf, adult programming, and player engagement initiatives
Assist with all aspects of golf shop merchandising operations, including:
- Inventory control and receiving
- Visual merchandising and product presentation
- Brand standards and display execution
- Point-of-sale operations and member service
- Support seasonal buying strategies and merchandising plans
- Build strong, professional relationships with members through consistent engagement and personalized service
- Communicate clearly and effectively with members, staff, and club leadership
- Represent Big Spring Country Club in a manner consistent with its values, traditions, and reputation
- Continue progress through the PGA PGM Program beyond Level I
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education
- Contribute to a team-oriented culture emphasizing mentorship, accountability, and continuous improvement
