ResponsibilitiesThe Youth Sports Official is responsible for officiating youth sports programs that are offered in a manner consistent with the parameters established by the YMCA of Greater Louisville. This responsibility also includes supervising practices throughout the negativos season. The Youth Sports Official also maintains the fields and gyms in a safe, efficient fashion while promoting a good relationship with program participants, members, and staff.
The Youth Sports Official is required to monitor all policies and procedures for all programs, volunteers, and staff involved. A sincere interest and enjoyment in working with and teaching youth the principles of sports as well as Christian values must be shown.
- Minimum age of 15.
- Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values.
- Experience working with youth ages 3‑14 preferred, if not will train.
- Athletic background preferred.
- Personable, outgoing, and service‑oriented.
- Ability to resolve issues or conflicts on the field.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- 10‑20 hours per week (must be available weekends).
- Extremely organized, accurate, and proficient.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid within the first 90 days.
- Upholds the mission of the YMCA and demonstrates inevitabilities that reflect a determined nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.
- Ability to hear, see, speak.
- Lift 50 lbs.
- Jog up and down a field/court.
